TARONGA ZOO WEDDING

With their love of animals and the amazing views across Sydney Harbour, Taronga Zoo was the ultimate destination for Daniele & Yasser’s wedding!

We’d caught up for drinks through the year to run over the days plans and I was pretty excited by the unique venue, though a little nervous that it was on the first day of Daylight Savings, so not wanting to mess up and arrive to bridal preparation an hour late, I must have set at least half a dozen different alarms for the morning.

Bride preparation at Daniele and Yassers’ home was very relaxed with a few close friends and family there to share in the morning and to help out as needed, in fact, the relaxed theme continued on throughout the day with Yasser appearing as calm as a cucumber while he waited for his bride to arrive at the ceremony.

Between the wedding ceremony, the view across the harbour and the chimpanzee running around in the background with what at the time I thought to be a stuffed toy and later realised was a pile of hay, I didn't know where to point my camera!

Sydney Wedding Photographer

It was an amazing day to be a Sydney wedding photographer, a stunning spring day, super sunny without being hot, perfect for an outside ceremony and the views from the Centenary Theatre terrace at Taronga Zoo were about as good as you can get of the city skyline, only being outdone by the views from upstairs in the Taronga Centre during the wedding reception.

We had a small window for bridal party portraits at the zoo, so in list of priority was the Giraffe enclosure, elephants (who didn’t seem to want to come to the party at the time) and the front entrance. It’s amazing how much you can get in a short period of time and without having to travel too far. Though I recommend brides bring some comfortable shoes to put on for the walk.

The late afternoon sun streaming into the 2nd floor of the Taronga Centre was incredible and couldn’t have been planned better as the newlyweds made their grand entrance while we all then watched the sun set over Sydney Harbour and the lights of the city became a feature of the horizon. A fun night of music, dancing and entertainment ensued, though I’d say that it was the belly dancing that stole the show!

Now, onto the elephant in the room, that time I was photobombed by a giraffe, how cool is having a giraffe in your wedding photos!

If you’re looking for a Sydney Wedding Photographer, I’d love the opportunity to capture one of the most important moments in your life, your commitment to your best mate in front of your closest friends and family in a natural, relaxed and timeless way, for you to you to look back on with all of the love tears and laughter you shared on the day for generations to come.
