ESTATE TUSCANY WEDDING - KATIE & CALVIN

Summer came early for Katie & Calvin’s Estate Tuscany wedding in the Hunter Valley as New South Wales experienced a Spring heatwave, setting a new September record, causing me to consider calling ahead to check if it was ok to wear shorts on the day!

Katie had set the tone for the day early when she answered “the drunken stumble” in her pre-wedding day questionnaire to the question “will there be a newlywed farewell at the end of the night?” and I knew right away that Katie and Calvins wedding was going to be a good fit for my natural, fun and relaxed style of capturing the day.

The day was a blast and because we’d hit it off so quickly when we’d caught up for coffee before hand, it was just like hanging out photographing the wedding of old friends. There was a lot of laughter, Katie and Calvin have a real zest for life and it was great to see a couple taking the time to have so much fun with their friends and family amidst the formalities of the day. To this day, I still don’t understand what some of Cal’s family were saying to me with their thick Irish accents, or whether they were laughing with or at me.

Hunter Valley Wedding Photographer

Having access to the Vineyards across the road made for some amazing sunset bridal party photos, without the need for going far from the venue, which in and of itself is super photogenic, the space where the bridesmaids got ready is filled with beautiful natural light from large windows that wrap the room almost 180 degrees and the outlook across the vineyards from the ceremony location is outstanding. It’s it’s pretty hard to go wrong with a Hunter Valley wedding, because no matter the time of year, whether the vineyards are full and rich of green vines or dry causing yellow grasses to glow in the late afternoon sun, it’s a beautiful destination.

I was excited to bump into Katie & Cal recently at a local restaurant while I was out celebrating my own engagement of all things and to see them doing so great and about to start a family of their own. A huge congrats guys, thanks again for such an amazing day and best of luck!

If you’re looking for a Hunter Valley wedding photographer, I’d love the opportunity to capture one of the most important moments in your life, your commitment to your best mate in front of your closest friends and family in a natural, relaxed and timeless way, for you to you to look back on with all of the love tears and laughter you shared on the day for generations to come.
